Ministry of Environment and Agriculture announces 401 forest ranger vacancies

The Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture of Georgia is announcing 401 forest ranger vacancies within the National Forestry Agency system.

According to the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture, the vacancies are being announced as part of the forestry reform aimed at strengthening forest protection and improving forest management practices.

Under the reform, over 1.7 million hectares of forest land have been divided into 903 beat districts. Each beat district will be assigned to a forest ranger with personal responsibility. A total of 499 new staff members will join the National Forestry Agency system, 401 of whom will be forest rangers, to strengthen forest protection and oversight.

“As part of the National Forestry Agency’s reform, forest protection measures are also being strengthened. More than 1.7 million hectares of land have been divided into 903 patrol beats to combat illegal logging; those patrol beats will be assigned to foresters with personal accountability. To tighten oversight, 499 new staff will join the system, including 401 forest ranger positions. Applicants have the opportunity to attend interviews at the relevant regional forestry services and secure employment as forest rangers,” noted Besik Amiranashvili, Head of the National Forestry Agency.

Those wishing to apply for the position of forest ranger must submit their personal details to the National Forestry Agency’s email [email protected] by August 20, 2026. The vacancy is open to any adult applicant who has completed full secondary education,” the statement reads.
