Ministry of Economy: Despite external shocks and geopolitical challenges, national economy is robustly expanding

According to preliminary estimates, economic growth stood at 8.6 per cent in June 2026, while the January–June figure reached 7.9 per cent, according to a statement released by the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development.

In the Ministry’s assessment, these recorded figures clearly demonstrate that, despite external shocks and geopolitical challenges, the national economy continues to expand at a robust pace.

“In June 2026, compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, the turnover of VAT-paying enterprises increased by 14.0 per cent. Furthermore, a 13.7 per cent rise was recorded in the number of newly registered businesses.

A major positive contribution to economic growth in June was driven by increased economic activity across sectors such as manufacturing, transportation and storage, construction, information and communication, healthcare, financial and insurance activities, and real estate activities.

Over the first six months of 2026, high economic growth was further propelled by positive trends observed in foreign trade. During the reporting period, exports rose by 20.0 per cent to reach USD 3,876.3 million. Particularly impressive growth was recorded in domestic exports (excluding re-exports), which surged by 62.6 per cent to USD 2,391.8 million,” the Ministry of Economy statement read.
