Ministry of Agriculture: Georgia’s hazelnut exports worth USD 15.2 million in February

In February, Georgia exported 1,700 tonnes of hazelnuts valued at USD 19.3 million, according to information from the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture.

The agency’s report highlights a notable increase in the value of hazelnut exports.

“Compared to the same period last year, the volume of hazelnuts exported has risen by 33% (an additional 407.4 tonnes), while the export value has more than doubled, increasing by 2.2 times (USD 10.4 million),” the ministry stated.

The primary market for Georgian hazelnuts remains the European Union, including Italy, Spain, Germany, France, and Greece, where a total of 9,900 tonnes were exported from August 1, 2025, to February 28, 2026. Additionally, exports included 944 tonnes to Syria, 511 tonnes to Armenia, and 473 tonnes to Russia, the ministry added.
