Minister of Economy: When it comes to robust economic growth, Georgia is standout leader in our region and outperforms EU member states
“It is highly significant that our country’s economy continues to grow year after year. Naturally, we are dedicating immense effort to ensuring that every sector and segment of the Georgian economy grows consistently and sustainably,” stated the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Mariam Kvrivishvili, whilst commenting on the latest report from the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
According to the IMF report, Georgia’s economic growth forecast for 2026 has been significantly revised upward from April’s projections, now reaching 6.5%. Mariam Kvrivishvili noted that it is incredibly welcoming that confidence in Georgia is growing, with international financial institutions rating the country in an equally positive light.
The Minister emphasised that the Georgian Government implements numerous vital reforms annually, maintains close cooperation with the private sector, and actively works to attract investment to drive sectoral development; all of which ultimately feeds into the country’s dynamic economic growth.
“Of course, this is no accident. When we talk about robust economic growth, our country stands out as a direct result of these policies, positioning us as a leader in our region and compared to EU member states.
I am confident that 2026 will be yet another successful year for our nation, securing another milestone in economic growth by the year’s end. We will witness even more tangible results and, most importantly, these tangible outcomes will directly translate into the prosperity and rising living standards of our country’s population,” the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development stated.
