Minister of Economy – Poverty level still remains high

Struggle with poverty is the biggest challenge for the government and the number one goal – Giorgi Kobulia, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development said during the presentation of the annual report at the sitting of the Parliamentary Committee of Branch Economy and Economic Policy.

Kobulia said that poverty level was 40% in 2010, while in 2018 the parameter was fixed at 20%. “Poverty was reduced by half. However, we need higher speed for eradication of poverty,” Kobulia stated.
