Eight years have passed since the murder of Archil Tatunashvili. Military personnel paid tribute to his memory, the Ministry of Defense of Georgia reported.
According to the ministry, Deputy Commander of the Defense Forces and Chief of the General Staff, Major General Joni Tatunashvili, Chief Sergeant of the Aviation and Air Defense Command Revaz Mtsituri, servicemen of the 12th Battalion of the 1st Brigade, and family members gathered at the Mukhatgverdi Brothers’ Cemetery to honor Archil Tatunashvili’s memory. They laid flowers at his grave.
On February 22, eight years ago, Archil Tatunashvili was illegally detained in Akhalgori by representatives of the occupation regime. On February 23, it was reported that he had been killed. His body was later transferred to territory controlled by the Georgian side and he was buried with military honors at the Mukhatgverdi Brothers’ Cemetery.
