Mikheil Janelidze – European idea was defeated at Rustaveli Avenue when protests were dispersed with force and people were killed
“Human rights of all protesters were protected, and it will be so in the future,” Mikheil Janelidze, Foreign Minister stated during the joint sitting of European Integration and Foreign Relations Committees in the parliament when commenting about the two-day protests at central Rustaveli Avenue in Tbilisi.
In response to the opinion of members of National Movement Party, Janelidze said: “European idea was defeated at Rustaveli Avenue when protests were dispersed with force and when people were killed for their right of freedom of expression.” He said that Georgia showed an example of democratic development.
