MIA: Rescue and investigative operations are actively underway at Turkish plane crash site
The Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) reported that rescue and investigative operations are actively underway at the site of the Turkish military plane crash in the Sighnaghi municipality.
Georgian Minister of Internal Affairs Geka Geladze is present at the scene. Together with First Deputy Minister Roni Meskhi and heads of various police units, Geladze inspected the crash site and received updates on the ongoing operations from the heads of the relevant departments.
According to the MIA, the Turkish military aircraft, which was flying from Azerbaijan to Turkey, crashed approximately five kilometers from the Georgian state border.
The incident is being investigated under Article 275, Part 4 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which pertains to violations of air transport safety or operational rules resulting in loss of human life.
