MIA launched an investigation into Dighomi Massive blast

Ministry of Internal Affairs has launched an investigation into the fact of the explosion in Dighomi Massive district under paragraph 2, Article 240 of the Criminal Code of Georgia. Vazha Siradze, Deputy Chief of Patrol Police Department made the first comment for media.

According to him seven persons, including one child, have been hospitalized after a gas explosion that occurred in Dighomi Massive, Tbilisi today. “The block of apartments is evacuated from locals” – he said.

Crime implies the violation of safety rules in mining, construction or other works. The offense envisages up to 5 years of imprisonment.

Based on the preliminary information, the blast followed a natural gas leak on the 4th floor of the building in Dighomi Massive district.
