MIA imposes traffic restrictions on March 21

The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) imposed traffic restrictions on March 21, in connection with the death of Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II.

The restrictions will apply to both private motorcars and municipal transport.

According to the MIA, the following roads will be blocked from traffic: Freedom Square, Rustaveli Avenue, Metekhi Bridge, Europe Square, Baratashvili Bridge, Baratashvili Ascend and adjacent streets of Avlabari Metro Station. Restrictions will stand near the Sameba (Holy Trinity) Cathedral streets.

The MIA and Tbilisi City Hall called on citizens to refrain from driving by car except in cases of emergency.
