MIA detains one individual on extortion fact

Officers of the Kvemo Kartli Police Department, through operative-investigation activities, detained one individual, born in 2001 on the fact of extortion with the aim to misappropriate property.

The investigation determined that the individual contacted citizens with the name of criminal authority living abroad and threatened them with killing or destroying their property if not they paid him USD 100 100,000 in return.

Cell phones and other evidence were confiscated upon personal search of the detainee. The detainee faces from 4 to 7 years in prison.
