MIA: 9 individuals are detained at Rustaveli Avenue, among them Irakli Nadiradze and Levan Khabeishvili
According to Ministry of Internal Affairs, today at Rustaveli avenue, in front of the Parliament building, the Police officers detained 9 individuals on the fact of minor hooliganism and disobedience to law enforcers (Articles 166 and 173 of the Administrative Offences Code). Among detainees are the members of Tbilisi City Council Irakli Nadiradze and Levan Khabeishvili.
As Head of the Criminal Police Main Division Mamuka Tchelidze stated at the briefing held today, these individuals violated the public order, verbally insulted law enforcers and did not obey the lawful request of the police.
“In addition, a member of the parliament Nikanor Melia was there at this time, he was violating the public order, insulted the police and did not obey their lawful request. Police prevent Melia’s violation at the ground. MP Melia is free for the time being”, – Tchelidze added.
