Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu urges EP, parliamentary assemblies to respect Georgian people's free will
“Unfortunately, the European Parliament and the parliamentary assemblies of different organizations are not treating Georgia properly. And I would like to ask them to respect the free will of the Georgian people,” Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Head of the Turkish Delegation in the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, told Georgian reporters within the Antalya Diplomacy Forum.
According to Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Georgia and Turkiye support each other in the international arena.
“We are enjoying excellent bilateral relations and excellent political and economic relations as two neighbours, and we have been supporting Georgia’s Euro-Atlantic aspirations from the beginning.
In international fora, Georgia and Turkiye have been supporting each other’s candidatures and et cetera on every platform. That is exactly what I am doing right now as the head of the Turkish delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly.
Unfortunately, the European Parliament and the parliamentary assemblies of the different organizations are not treating Georgia properly. And I would like to ask them to respect the free will of the Georgian people,” he said.
