The modernization of 12 Tbilisi metro stations project will be implemented in 2023-2029, Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze announced at the municipal government meeting.
The Mayor spoke about the project’s works. According to him, a consultant was selected with the support of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), who will help the Tbilisi transport company with the purchase of various services.
Kaladze thanked all the international financial organizations involved in the process.
“We cooperate closely with the EBRD. The organization is actively involved in the metro modernization project. 50.6 million euros have already been allocated in the form of a loan, and five million euros in the form of a grant,” he said.
According to Mayor, the international consulting company EGIS has already prepared a preliminary technical-economic analysis of the metro stations.
