Merab Dvalishvili loses to Petr Yan in UFC title fight #1TVSPORT

Georgian fighter Merab Dvalishvili failed to reclaim the UFC bantamweight championship belt after losing to Petr Yan by unanimous decision in the co-main event of UFC 323 in Abu Dhabi.

The fight marked the third meeting between Dvalishvili and Yan. Their first bout took place in March 2023 and ended in a convincing victory for the Georgian fighter. In their rematch in December 2025, the Russian fighter won by unanimous decision, taking the championship belt from Dvalishvili.

In their third encounter, Yan once again defeated the Georgian fighter, bringing their head-to-head record to 2–1 in his favor.

Dvalishvili first won the UFC championship belt in September 2024 by defeating Sean O’Malley. He subsequently defended the title successfully three times.
