UFC champion Merab Dvalishvili has returned to his homeland, Georgia, following his triumphant victory over Sean O’Malley.

The Georgian fighter addressed the media at the airport, expressing his pride and gratitude:

“I am thrilled to have defended my belt. Returning home always brings me joy. I mentioned Georgia to Donald Trump and reaffirmed my country’s and my respect for him. He told me he appreciated the fight and liked what I did,” Dvalishvili shared.

After the interview, Merab headed to Rike Park, where he will meet with eager fans.

As previously announced, Dvalishvili plans to stay in Georgia for a week before travelling to Azerbaijan to attend a UFC event.
