MEP Viola von Cramon says impeachment move aimed at diverting attention
European parliamentarian Viola von Cramon has expressed her view that the Georgian government’s decision to initiate impeachment proceedings against the President appears to be an attempt to divert attention away from real issues.
In response to a journalist’s question about the government’s move to impeach President, Viola von Cramon commented that it seems like an effort to shift the focus of society’s attention away from genuine problems.
The Political Council of the ruling Georgian Dream (GD) party decided to launch an impeachment procedure against President of Georgia Salome Zourabichvili, GD Chair Irakli Kobakhidze announced at the briefing on Friday.
