“We are looking forward to Georgia’s readiness to join, and the candidate status for your country,” a Member of the European Parliament Nacho Sánchez Amor told the GPB First Channel in Berlin.
According to the MEP, the European progressive family once again expressed readiness to grant a candidate status to Georgia.
“Now we need the activity of politicians and political environment in the country. Polarization should end, political actors should sit together and talk about the pro-European agenda. At the same time, I would like to call on the NGOs, the civil society, to support this process in the parliament or outside the parliament, in any place, because the content is more important than the place,” the MEP said.
The Party of European Socialists (PES) congress on Friday adopted a resolution, supporting “the granting of candidate status to Ukraine and Moldova and the readiness to grant it to Georgia.”
