Melia: Important for elected deputies to write individual statements of renouncing mandates

One of the leaders of the “Coalition for Changes”, Nika Melia, stated on Thursday that “When we discuss withdrawing lists and renouncing mandates in advance (before parliament convenes), it’s crucial from the perspective of practical expediency, because the opposition’s reputation has been undermined in this regard.”

According to Melia, “it is important for the elected deputies to write individual statements of renouncing mandates, so that the society does not get the feeling that they are preparing for some other scenario in the future.”

“The main vision, plan, strategy is the following – to shake the regime until it collapses – be it at international, legal or street level. The parliament of this convocation no way will be the parliament of Georgia,” Melia stated.

So far, “Coalition for Change” and “Unity – National Movement” appealed to the CEC to refuse registration.
