“Salome Zourabichvili [current president] had a principled position on pardoning Saakashvili [Georgia’s jailed ex-president]; today, she has a different opinion,” said Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze when asked about the President’s statement on Saakashvili’s pardon.
“I did not decline. I do not make comments on pardon unless I say that I pardoned someone and that is not related to the fact that he has a huge role in launching the Georgia past,” the President said in an interview at RFE/RL headquarters in Prague.
Kaladze stated that “considering Zourabichvili’s agenda I can not rule anything out.”
