Mayor Kaladze: Significant funds were spent to attempt a coup through external interference
Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze stated that reports suggesting Igor Blazevic, a representative of the Prague Civil Society Center, is preparing a “revolution scenario” for the opposition are not surprising, the Tbilisi City Hall reported.
Speaking to the media, Kaladze said that for years, external forces have been attempting to influence political processes in Georgia and encourage destabilization.
“We should not be surprised. We know the attitude toward Georgia. For years, large amounts of money have been spent to organize a coup attempt through external interference, to pit society against itself and deepen polarization. These attempts have not stopped,” he said.
Kaladze added that Georgian society is capable of correctly assessing ongoing political developments.
“A significant part of our population understands what is happening, who has what interests, and who the real enemy of our country is. It is important for citizens to carefully follow these processes and have accurate information,” he noted.
