Mayor Kaladze: October 4 detainees were tasked with coup attempt, but security services responded effectively
“In connection with the events of October 4, government representatives urged those detained not to carry out illegal actions, but these warnings were not taken into account,” Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze stated.
According to him, those involved must be held accountable under the law.
“These individuals had been campaigning for an entire month about their intentions. They spoke openly about their plans, and on October 4, they began to put those plans into action. They rushed to the presidential palace and stormed the courtyard. The relevant services were operating at a high level during this time. We urged everyone not to take any illegal actions, but these individuals had a clear assignment and a plan to organize a coup d’état. Everyone must be held accountable before the law,” Kaladze said.
