Mayor Kaladze: Bidzina Ivanishvili will be remembered for his contribution to Georgia’s recent history
“I am not going to respond to speculations,” Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze said in response to a journalist’s question claiming that “more than 1,500 troll and bot accounts were identified among those who liked TV Imedi’s May 26 post, which depicted Bidzina Ivanishvili alongside Merab Kostava and Zviad Gamsakhurdia.”
According to Kaladze, Bidzina Ivanishvili, the honorary chairman of the party Georgian Dream – Democratic Georgia, will be remembered in modern Georgian history because he liberated the country from the National Movement regime.
“I am not going to respond to speculations. Bidzina Ivanishvili will indeed be remembered in the recent history of Georgia for the steps he has taken. We all remember well what was happening in the country before 2012. It was not just the regime of Mikheil Saakashvili. We clearly see what kind of force we were dealing with, what kind of force stood behind these internal enemies, stateless individuals, and the agency network. One person came forward, the whole of Georgia rallied around him, and in 2012 the country was freed from the bloody regime represented by Mikheil Saakashvili and the National Movement.
Naturally, this does not please the forces both inside and outside the country, who cannot come to terms with it. They want to change the government somehow and bring representatives of their agents’ network to power so that they can easily make decisions and use our country to pursue their own interests. But we should not forget one thing: today, it is the Georgian people who decide who will be in power and whom they will entrust with the fate of the country,” Kakha Kaladze said.
Tbilisi City Hall released the information.
