Marta Kos: I would wish that Georgia, with the huge support of the Georgian people, would be today at same level as Moldova and Ukraine

“Georgia is a candidate country on paper only; I regret this,” European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos said in response to a question from a Georgian media journalist.

Kos said she wished Georgia, with the strong support of the Georgian people, were at the same level as Moldova and Ukraine today.

“How we will proceed with the country depends mostly on how the member states will see the future, but a lot of what is happening in the country now will be presented at the end of October in the enlargement reports. You can imagine in which direction this will go,” Kos said.
