Maritime Transport Agency denies Batumi-Novorossiysk transit launch

The Maritime Transport Agency of Georgia denies information reported by the Armenian media on the launch of regular sea transits between Batumi and Russia’s Novorossiysk city.

The Agency, however, said in its statement that the ship Haci Musa Ucak- (IMO 9128544), sailing under Plau flag, twice made commercial routes between Batumi and Novorossiysk in April. The ship’s owner company was not on the sanctioned list and plans to implement similar shipments in the future.

Also, according to the statement, the cargo was designated for Armenia.

“The Maritime Transport Agency, in coordination with the Revenue Service, regularly checks the ships entering Georgian ports and territorial waters,” the Agency said.
