Mamuka Mdinaradze views his appointment as State Minister for Regional Policy Issues both as honor and challenge

“My appointment to the position of State Minister for Regional Policy Issues is both an honor and a challenge,” said Mamuka Mdinaradze during the briefing at the Government Administration.

Mdinaradze thanked the team, for which he had worked for the last few months.

“I would like to thank the people, the team, with whom I have worked over the past few months. I say this sincerely: just as I leave my current position with my head held high, I will work in my new role with that same sense of pride. Thank you very much; the challenge is accepted, Mr Prime Minister,” he said.

According to Mamuka Mdinaradze, development of the regions is one of the top priorities for the government. He said the position was challenging but required responsibility to “ensure that we achieve our set goals in the regions even more rapidly and effectively.”

“In the fight to address this challenge, I will attempt to dedicate all my experience to my team and my country. Just as I have done so far, I am confident I will succeed in this, and with the trust of the team’s leaders, I will be able to accomplish this.

My gratitude to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Prosecutor’s Office, the State Security Service, and representatives of law-enforcement agencies. Heroes work there, individuals who work day and night to serve the state and contribute to the country’s development and building. To my new colleagues, or rather, my co-mates in this new challenge, I promise that I will fight tirelessly alongside them,” he said.

Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze announced during the briefing that Mamuka Mdinaradze will take on a new role as State Minister for Regional Policy Issues.

The post of State Minister for Regional Policy Issues will be established within the Georgian government structure, and Mamuka Mdinaradze will assume the duties. He explained that Mdinaradze will continue to hold the position of Vice Prime Minister.
