The statement of so-called “president” of occupied South Ossetia is absolutely unacceptable and it is against all international standards and norms, – Mamuka Mdinaradze, Chairman of Georgian Dream faction, said in response to the remarks by de facto president of the occupied South Ossetia Anatoly Bibilov.

According to Mdinaradze, despite the statements of the occupational regime, the Georgian side seeks to transfer Archil Tatunashvili’s body as soon as possible. “Despite such illegitimate statements, the Georgian state is doing everything to return the body of Archil Tatunashvil to his home as soon as possible. I cannot really say what the purpose of so-called president is when he is making this statement. We have the same expectation and we are doing everything the body to be transferred to the territory, which is under our control. We mean that we expect the transfer of the body in the near future,” Mdinaradze said.

Anatoly Bibilov, the de facto president of the occupied South Ossetia, stated at the meeting with co-chairpersons of Geneva talks that Archil Tatunashvili’s case is “too politicized”. “We are well aware that medical expertise is accepted in Europe and America. We have to do everything through the law. The same in Georgia – expertise needs at least a month,” de facto president said.

Anatoly Bibilov also said that “if Tatunashvili’s body is passed without expertise, South Ossetia might receive more negative, as this issue is very politicized by the Georgian side.”
