Mamuka Bakhtadze: Holders of ID cards will be allowed to enter both countries Georgia and Ukraine

Holders of ID cards will be allowed to enter both countries Georgia as well as Ukraine, – Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze said at the press conference.

According to the Prime Minister, the introduction of a similar approach is planned in relation with other countries as well.

“During the previous meeting, I stated that it was important for us to find new potential in tourism and to make the more complete realization of Georgia’s geographical advantage.

Consequently, we have made a decision and on the basis of bilateral relations with Ukraine, citizens will have the right to travel in both countries using just electronic ID cards.

It will promote the tourism development, as well as further economic cooperation in general.

In addition, we are planning the use of a similar approach in relation with other countries and we will provide information about it in the nearest future,” said the Prime Minister.

Ukraine and Georgia plan to launch travel between the two countries with ID cards from September.
