The main New Year Tree has been lit on Europe Square in Batumi. The event was attended by Sulkhan Tamazashvili, the Chairman of the Government of Adjara, along with his family. Batumi Mayor Giorgi Tsintsadze lit the New Year Tree together with local children.
A New Year’s Village, adorned with festive lights and decorations, has also opened in Europe Square. This village features spaces for local businesses and food vendors, along with a variety of entertainment activities for children, including performances and concerts by local and invited artists.
Batumi will celebrate the New Year with a festive gala concert, and the holiday events will conclude on January 7 with a Christmas concert.
New Year’s celebrations are also taking place in other municipalities of Adjara. Today, the main Christmas trees were ceremonially lit in Khulo and Shuakhevi. The tree lighting ceremonies in Keda, Khelvachauri, and Kobuleti are scheduled for December 22.
