Louisa Vinton: Georgia’s response to coronavirus pandemic was exemplary, the whole world recognizes it
Louisa Vinton, the Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Georgia said Georgia’s response to the coronavirus pandemic was exemplary, and the whole world recognizes it.
“We see very good results from positive experiences. Now when Georgia has joined the “green countries” list announced by the European Union, Georgia will have an economic advantage over other countries, both in terms of restoration of flights and tourism, ” – said Louisa Vinton.
As she notes the successful response to the coronavirus pandemic will help to restore the country’s economy.
“The example of Georgia is completely exemplary for the whole world, all recognize it. Everyone recognizes that the National Center for Disease Control was the leading agency in this successful response.
We are pleased to assist this process along with the Swedish government. With our support, the center will create a national system that will train medical staff throughout Georgia. This will help the country to prepare for a possible second wave of coronavirus or for any other crisis, ” – said Louisa Vinton.
