Locals in Adigeni protest arrangement of Muslim chapel, police present on-site
Residents of the village of Daba Adigeni are protesting against the presence of a Muslim chapel in one of the houses. There are clergymen among the protesters, who are currently gathered on the central highway connecting the villages of Adigeni, the Kvemo Karli region. Police are monitoring the situation on-site.
According to reports, on the other side of the police cordon, there are supporters of the owner of the private house where the chapel is located. According to the protesters, there is no need for a Muslim chapel in the village, since not a single Muslim family lives there.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs called on the citizens gathered at the site not to exceed the standards of freedom of speech and assembly established by the law. Any violation of the law will be immediately suppressed by the police within the framework of the law.
