Locals of Duisi protest over construction of hydro-electric power stations
Locals of Duisi village of Pankisi Gorge are holding protest over construction of hydro-electric power stations.
Journalist of First Channel reports that two power stations were built in Khadori Gorge in the past years and construction of additional three ones is planned.
Locals claim that construction of the power stations will destroy Alazani River’s ecosystem and the landscape and will harm development of tourism in the region.
Protesters apply to President, Prime Minister, Chairman of Parliament and Public Defender to become interested with the concerns of locals residing in Pankisi Gorge.
