“Amidst the global uncertainty that surrounds us, Georgia remains, if we may call it so, an island of peace and stability. It offers a transparent environment where commerce can flourish unhindered in any direction, supported by a remarkably simple and attractive tax system,” stated Levan Zhorzholiani, the Head of the Administration of the Government of Georgia, during a broadcast on the Business Insider programme.

As Levan Zhorzholiani noted, strengthening the nation’s connectivity function is of paramount importance, underscoring Georgia’s exceptional relations with its neighbours.

“Our bureaucracy operates effectively; we have recently observed various international indices in this regard, which show we have made considerable progress. Public servants are working with immense efficiency in this sector. Special recognition must go to the Ministry of Economy for its role in attracting Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), as well as the institutional and investment-driven reforms that have been successfully implemented. Judging by recent official visits, it is fair to say we have fully engaged with Central Asian nations.

This engagement is vital for enhancing our regional connectivity function, and our ties with these nations are crucial. Furthermore, we enjoy excellent relations with our immediate neighbours, namely Turkey, Armenia, and Azerbaijan. Our role in facilitating these trade corridors is highly strategic, and we are doing everything we can to boost this connectivity.

Transparency, accountability, and our international credit ratings, including the IMF’s recent upward revision of our economic growth forecasts, are naturally being closely monitored by investors. It is on this very basis that they decide to commit capital. Moreover, looking at the data from the Department of Statistics, we have taken quite substantial strides forward compared to previous years,” Zhorzholiani noted.
