Lelo's Kupradze: We wish success to all opposition projects, but Lelo seeks only organic unity
Irakli Kupradze, a member of Lelo – Strong Georgia, says the party wishes success to all opposition initiatives but plans to continue its political development independently.
According to Kupradze, the decision for Lelo – Strong Georgia to operate independently was made unanimously by the party’s Political Council.
“Our position is clear and unchanged — ‘Lelo’ continues to develop independently. In the end, we will summarize all important political issues. We wish success to all opposition projects; however, we are only interested in the kind of unity that will be organic and natural for ‘Lelo’. Criticizing them and talking about their problems is neither my desire nor my interest,” Kupradze said.
He added that the party is searching for partners whose strategic positions and political vision are closer to those of its voters.
“It is a simple fact — we are looking for other natural partners who are close to our strategic lines and to the nature and wishes of our voters,” Kupradze noted.
When asked which positions of the opposition alliance are unacceptable to the party, Kupradze said journalists should direct that question to the alliance’s member parties.
