Lelo’s Kupradze: We can liberate Tbilisi in local elections

“I believe it is possible to win and liberate Tbilisi during the local elections,” stated Irakli Kupradze, Secretary General of Lelo – Strong Georgia, during an appearance on a media program.

According to Kupradze, this possibility should not be dismissed.

“The parliamentary elections were rigged. Even under those conditions, we won 60 to 40. I believe it is possible to take control of Tbilisi and free it from the harmful, violent, Russian-backed influence. Liberating Tbilisi means dismantling Ivanishvili’s key instrument of repression — a system based on violence, political persecution, and corruption. We have a real opportunity to achieve this. In 2021, we succeeded in winning control of about a dozen cities. Since then, the legal situation has worsened, but politically, we have momentum. Why should we reject this opportunity? Let’s discuss it first,” Kupradze said.
