Lelo’s Japaridze: I feel uplifted. Our country will definitely stand on its feet soon
“I feel uplifted. In the struggle for our country’s freedom and its European future, hardships should instead increase our confidence, strength, and desire for unity,” stated Lelo party leader Badri Japaridze in a post published on his Facebook page.
“Our country will definitely stand on its feet. This will happen soon,” Japaridze noted.
The court sentenced Lelo leaders Mamuka Khazaradze and Badri Japaridze to eight months in prison for failing to comply with a request from Parliament’s temporary investigative commission. They were also banned from holding public office for two years. Mamuka Khazaradze and Badri Japaridze were arrested on June 23 based on the court’s decision.
