“The threat of losing visa liberalization is very real and increasingly imminent. A significant number of states are seriously considering raising this issue, and the primary responsibility for this lies entirely with the Georgian Dream,” stated Grigol Gegelia, a member of the Lelo party.

According to Gegelia, the responsibility specifically rests on the shoulders of the Georgian Dream, whose government is doing nothing to offer a path of change either to Georgian society or to its European allies.

“The full responsibility for this situation lies with the destructive regime of the Georgian Dream, which is actively working to deprive our nation of the privilege and benefits that visa liberalization provides. The responsibility is entirely with the Georgian Dream, whose government is failing to propose any meaningful course of reform to either Georgian society or our European partners. Instead of taking steps to prevent Georgia from losing this vital tool, the Georgian Dream is deliberately acting to worsen the situation and deteriorate relations. This reckless stance threatens to strip millions of Georgians of the ability to travel freely within the European Union, do business, build friendships, and visit relatives abroad. The Georgian Dream is intentionally depriving us of these opportunities through its own actions,” Gegelia emphasized.
