“European Union member states are monitoring developments in Georgia daily. As a result, the sanctions list is expanding and no longer includes only high-ranking political officials,” Lelo member Grigol Gegelia stated.

This clearly indicates that European Union member states are closely monitoring developments in Georgia daily. As a result, the sanctions list is expanding and no longer includes only high-ranking political officials. I want every false witness, every police officer, regime propagandists, and every person who willingly or unwillingly participates in the crimes committed by Georgian Dream to understand once and for all that their names and their actions are known to Western states. Accordingly, they will be isolated from the civilised world and will have to remain with Georgian Dream alongside China, Iran, Venezuela, and Nauru. This is the only fate that those complicit in this regime’s crimes will firmly share,” Gegelia declared.

According to him, it is deplorable that the Georgian Dream regime is trying to present China as a strategic partner to counterbalance the West.

“At the same time, we see that the West-sanctioned Georgian Dream deserted to China. During the official visit, the Georgian Dream party flag was displayed, indicating that the Georgian Dream political party visited the Communist Party. It’s positive that, somehow, Mr. Volski returned to his own communist roots. However, it is deplorable that the Georgian Dream regime is trying to present China as a strategic partner to counterbalance the West. I want to emphasise that Communist China is not and cannot be a counterbalance to the European Union and NATO as Georgia’s security guarantor and main strategic partner!
