Lelo’s Gegelia: Attack on German Ambassador targets Georgia’s European course and Lelo-Strong Georgia
“The Anti-Corruption Bureau’s statement confirms that the attack on the German Ambassador serves to target both Georgia’s European course and Lelo-Strong Georgia,” declared Grigol Gegelia, a member of Lelo-Strong Georgia.
According to Gegelia, the assault on Germany, as Georgia’s most important strategic partner, constitutes a direct attack on Georgia’s European trajectory.
“Today’s statement by the Anti-Corruption Bureau confirms that the five-day attack on German Ambassador Peter Fischer serves to target Georgia’s European course and pro-Western opposition, specifically the Lelo-Strong Georgia coalition. To this end, Georgian Dream no longer hesitates to discredit a European diplomat, an ambassador from a leading EU member state, thereby launching an open assault on the Federal Republic of Germany!
The unrecognised Prime Minister’s claim that the German Ambassador engaged in economic cooperation with someone without a notarised agreement was both absurd and comical! Not only because it’s inconceivable that the German state would enter such relationships without following proper procedures, but also because he knew precisely about this normative act, the document’s official registration number and all other formalities. Today, this document is already registered in the Public Registry. It is public and accessible!
We want to emphasise once again that attacking Germany, as our most crucial strategic partner, directly means attacking Georgia’s European course. This is precisely the primary objective of the unrecognised Russian regime today, and the circus performance staged over the past five days serves exactly this purpose, settling scores with Germany abroad and with Strong Georgia domestically,” Gegelia stated.
For reference, the Anti-Corruption Bureau has launched an investigation into Mamuka Khazaradze’s property declaration in connection with the rental contract with the German Ambassador.
