Lelo's Datunashvili: Mud-slinging achieves nothing; sorry to see the Rose Revolution architect fall so low

“Mud-slinging achieves nothing, and no one will score extra political points. It is a very sorry sight to see the architect of the Rose Revolution, a man who is one of the authors of independent Georgia, fall as low as he has,” stated Tazo Datunashvili, Executive Secretary of Strong Georgia–Lelo.

Datunashvili was responding to a Facebook post by the former President of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili, in which he remarked: “Lelo is simply a business project for Badri and Mamuka, and Ahali was set up from the start as a project by the Gilauri brothers.”

“Mamuka Khazaradze and Badri Japaridze were highly successful in their own field. Saakashvili, on the other hand, first handed this country over to the Russians and Ivanishvili, then surrendered himself, and along the way, repeatedly tore apart the United National Movement (UNM), the erstwhile flagship of the Rose Revolution. Saakashvili occasionally has moments of clarity. During one such moment, he noted: ‘No one can build political capital by insulting others.’ I agree with this phrase of his, and perhaps he should listen to himself from time to time. I know just how highly he thinks of himself,” Datunashvili stated.
