Legal Affairs Committee Chair: Middle Corridor project serves interests of both Georgia and Azerbaijan

“Relations with a friendly partner country, Azerbaijan, are important. The Middle Corridor project is of strategic significance. It serves the interests of both the Georgian people and Azerbaijan,” said Archil Gorduladze, Chair of the parliamentary Legal Affairs Committee.

According to Gorduladze, the project’s implementation is in the EU’s interests.

“The middle corridor should allow cargo, the final destination of which is the European Union, to pass through Georgia. That is why it is significant that our strategic partnership is upgraded to the highest level, where the interests of both countries are taken into account. Supporting the implementation of strategic projects is beneficial for everyone amid the situation, when we see what is going on in the region. The need and importance of the Middle Corridor is increasing tenfold, connecting the East with the West,” he said.
