Lebanese Citizen detained at Tbilisi Airport for attempted illegal border crossing
Officers of the Border Management and Coordination Main Division of the Patrol Police Department under Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs have detained a Lebanese citizen on charges of attempting to illegally cross the Georgian state border, the ministry said.
According to the Interior Ministry, law enforcement officers arrested the foreign national at Tbilisi International Airport while the individual was allegedly attempting to cross the state border using a forged document.
An investigation has been launched under Articles 19-344 and 362 of Georgia’s Criminal Code, which carry a penalty of up to five years in prison.
