Leadership of Kojori Sergeant Academy dismissed in connection with incident
By the decision of General Staff of the Ministry of Defence and the Minister of Defence the leadership of Kojori Sergeant Academy has been dismissed. The press service of the Ministry released the regarding statement.
“By the decision of General Staff of the Ministry of Defence and the Minister of Defence the leadership of the Academy has been dismissed in connection with the incident that happened at Kojori Sergeant Academy on August 1; In particular, the head of the academy, Vice Colonel Z.Z, Sergeant of the Academy G. B, Major A. R., Lieutenant V. M. and acting Sergeant A.G, have been dismissed” –the statement of the Ministry reads.
According to the Ministry of Defense, the security at the Kojori Sergeant Academy territory is protected by the Sergeants Academy staff and not by military police.
A conflict took place among military servicemen at the Kojori Military Academy yesterday, which resulted in hospitalization of five soldiers.
Investigation into the case has been launched under the Article 117 (1) of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
