Law enforcers thwart attempts to illegally import large quantities of drugs into Georgia
Officers from the Adjara Main Division of the Central Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) and the Customs Department of the Revenue Service of the Finance Ministry thwarted attempts to illegally import large quantities of drugs into Georgia.
During personal and luggage checks at different times, law enforcers seized drug substances, including 79 pills of Subtex and 12 pills of MDMA, and detained two individuals.
The investigation is in progress under Articles 260 and 262 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which provide for imprisonment for up to 20 years or life imprisonment.
