Law enforcers seize up to 10 kg of narcotic drugs in Batumi, detain 5 individuals

Officers from the Adjara Main Division of the Central Criminal Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) detained five individuals, among them 1 Georgian citizen and 4 foreign nationals, in Batumi for unlawful purchase-keeping of narcotic substances and cultivation of drug-containing plants.

Upon search of residential places and vehicles, law enforcers confiscated up to 10 kilograms of different drugs, including Methadone and marijuana, as evidence.

The investigation is in progress under Articles 260, 260-4, and 265-1 of the Criminal Code, which provide for imprisonment for up to 20 years or a life sentence.
