Latvian FM urges Georgian government to withdraw Transparency Law

Georgia’s Transparency Law is “a clear danger to the country’s European path,” said Baiba Braže, Foreign Minister of Latvia.

“Georgia’s President Salome Zourabichvili has vetoed the law that has created huge protests in Georgia and a clear danger to the country’s European path. Latvia urges the Georgian government and parliament to withdraw the law and reconsider the approach,” she wrote on the X Platform.

The Georgian parliament adopted the law On Transparency of Foreign Influence with the third reading on May 14.
