Latest projection: EPP wins 191 seats, S&D secures 135 in EU Parliament
According to the latest projection, the center-right European People’s Party (EPP) has secured 191 seats in the European Parliament.
The Socialists and Democrats (S&D) bloc was always projected to come in second – and it has, winning 135 seats.
Right-wing and far-right groups, the European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR) and Identity and Democracy (ID), have maintained their previous standings with 71 and 58 seats, respectively.
Liberal Renew lost 22 seats, and the Greens have lost 20.
The support of the 95 independent MEPs remains uncertain at this stage.
