Lasha Talakhadze resumes training ahead of World Championships
“Three-time Olympic champion Lasha Talakhadze has resumed training with the national team and is preparing for the World Championships. His goal is to secure a qualification spot for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics,” Georgia’s Ministry of Sport said.
Talakhadze won his third Olympic gold medal at the 2024 Paris Games, after which he turned to politics and became a member of parliament on the Georgian Dream party list.
Following the Olympics, Talakhadze needed time to recover from injuries. He has said that he now feels well, which prompted him to decide to continue his sporting career.
Talakhadze’s next major competition will be the World Weightlifting Championships, which are scheduled to begin on October 27
