Lasha Bekauri wins World Judo Championship

World Judo Championship in Doha hosted the Georgian final in the 90 kg weight category.

Olympic champion Lasha Bekauri and European champion Luka Maisuradze competed for the gold medal.

The meeting was heated as was to be expected. With waza-ari, Maisuradze prevailed in overtime.

The World Championships in Doha produced a number of Georgian judo history-making performances.
