Landslides, heavy rain, cause problems in several regions

Landslide processes activated due to heavy rains in Khulo, Shuakhevi, Keda and Khelvachauri Municipalities of the Adjara region.

According to Adjara Roads Department, movement is prohibited in direction of Didachara-Satsikhuri, Gelaura, Tskhemlisi-Dargula, Chvana-Tsivadzeebi-Kartsivadzeebi, Merisi-Sikhalidzeebi.

Locals are recommended to use bypass roads. Thirty-five heavy vehicles are dispatched at the damaged road sections.

Ten households are cut off the regional centre in Tsageri Municipality due to the landslide that hit the road. They need the items of primary consumption, medicines and food.

Paata Margveladze, Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti Regional Envoy arrived in the municipality to inspect the situation firsthand. Rehabilitation works will begin as soon as the meteorological conditions improve.

The Frone River swelled in Dvani village of Kareli Municipality. The flood damaged the old road in the village. Dozens of houses, yards and cellars are flooded. Shida Kartli Governor arrived at the disaster site.
